Channel migrant Abu Wadee. who had been a member of a Hamas unit, has flaunted his Christmas gifts
A migrant who entered the UK illegally and was jailed for nine months after livestreaming his journey across the Channel aboard a dinghy has flaunted his Christmas presents online. Palestinian Abu Wadee, 34, who had been a member of a Hamas unit in Gaza, was released from jail last month and has made his return to TikTok.
He posted the videos from his bail hostel, in which he begs for money and blows a kiss, while laughing: “I love you, Britain”.
Wadee, whose real name is Mossab Al-Qassass, is seen in one clip showing off his Christmas gifts, which included Lynx deodorant and Celebrations chocolates, according to The Sun. In another, he shows off his new haircut, saying: “My hair is nicer than yours. What do you think?” He is also seen chatting with a woman on a livestream about his asylum claim.

In response, Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said, “He’s laughing while living off British taxpayers.”
“This is Labour’s Britain – foreign criminals exploiting human rights laws to dodge deportation. The law should protect the public, not let offenders flaunt it on TikTok.”
Wadee was arrested by immigration enforcement officers after arriving in Kent last year, having paid smugglers €1,500 (£1,300). He was then placed in a hotel in Manchester. He had made asylum claims in Greece, Germany and Belgium, had no familial or financial ties to the UK and stayed between Calais and Dunkirk in France for about a week before making the crossing. He livestreamed his dinghy being approached by a Border Force vessel, attracting some 2.5 million views, according to The Mail on Sunday at the time.
He had livestreamed his arrival on an “overcrowded and rigid inflatable boat”, Canterbury Crown Court heard last May. He was told there was a “risk of death or injury to you and others”.
It was also reported that he had posted a video on his Facebook page in September 2023 in which he is seen calling for Allah to “punish [Jews] completely”.
The Probation Service said: “Approved premises are highly supervised.”
After his release in December, the Home Office refused to confirm whether Wadee would be deported from the UK, according to GB News.
