Sir Keir Starmer’s director of communications has quit just hours after Morgan McSweeney resigned from Downing Street.
Tim Allan, who joined Sir Keir in No10 in September last year, claimed he was quitting to let the Prime Minister build a new team.
He said: “I have decided to stand down to allow a new No10 team to be built.
“I wish the PM and his team every success.”
However, Mr Allan also worked closely with Lord Mandelson during his time as Tony Blair’s deputy director of communications.
