Seven breakups. More than £1 million lost. And a love story that felt more like an emotional storm than a fairytale. Chloe Brockett is finally speaking out about the relationship that pushed her to the edge — revealing the hidden struggles, repeated heartbreak, and the devastating toll of an addiction that cast a long shadow over everything. What looked like passion from the outside was, behind closed doors, a cycle of fear, uncertainty, and wounds that never truly healed.

Chloe Brockett has spoken for the first time about what she describes as a devastating, emotionally shattering relationship with ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham — revealing how his addictions, mental health crises and repeated suicide attempts left her broken.Chloe and Jack together at one of Jack's boxing matches. What was meant to be a romantic weekend escape nearly ended in tragedy.

Back in December 2020, Chloe booked a quiet, secluded cabin in Sussex, hoping time away would help mend one of the many fractures in their turbulent relationship. Jack’s ongoing struggles with addiction had already taken a heavy toll, and she believed a break from Essex might allow them to reconnect.

Instead, the day after they returned home, Jack called Chloe to tell her he had been hospitalised.

A year later, while listening to a podcast, she discovered the harrowing truth — Jack had attempted to take his own life by overdosing on pills.

The couple first began dating in 2019, when Chloe was just 18 and Jack was nine years older. Their relationship, marked by intense highs and lows, saw them split up seven times before finally ending last September.

While Jack has spoken publicly about his mental health battles, Chloe has remained silent — fearing that speaking out might push him over the edge. But now, with Jack finally entering rehab to confront his addictions, Chloe says she is ready to tell her side of the story.

Through tears, the 25-year-old told the Daily Mail:
“We went away together and the next day he tried to kill himself. I blamed myself.

“We had such a lovely time. I would have been one of the last people he was around — and I had no idea.”

Jack’s first suicide attempt came three years after he won Love Island in 2018 alongside former girlfriend Dani Dyer, with the pair sharing the £50,000 prize.

It also followed his arrest for driving under the influence of drugs in his £35,000 Mercedes — charges that were later dropped, but which deeply affected him.

Now 34, Jack has admitted battling drug and alcohol addiction for years, claiming he spent more than £1 million on substances and gambling as his life spiralled out of control.

In 2024, Chloe says history repeated itself.

During another break in their relationship, Jack made a second suicide attempt after a heavy drinking binge — throwing himself from a hotel balcony in the West Midlands.

He survived, sustaining only an ankle injury that left him unable to walk for weeks, before being taken into police custody to sober up.

That same year, Jack narrowly avoided prison after pleading guilty to speeding, driving with false plates and driving under the influence of cocaine. He received an 18-month suspended sentence, later extended following a conviction for owning a dangerous dog.

Jack has blamed his downfall on the lack of structure after leaving Love Island, criticising TV bosses for failing to prepare contestants for fame and financial pressure.

For Chloe, the emotional cost was relentless.

“Watching someone you love do that is unbearable,” she said. “You feel helpless. I tried everything — weekends away, distractions, even physically taking pills out of his hands.”

While many women worry about infidelity, Chloe says her constant fear was whether Jack would overdose or harm himself.

“I was stressed all the time,” she admitted. “Addiction is toxic. It brings out the worst in everyone involved.”

As the relationship deteriorated, Chloe quit The Only Way Is Essex and launched her podcast On The Record with Chloe B in November 2023. But she says the emotional pressure meant she couldn’t even commit to work.

“I had sponsors lined up — and had to refund them,” she said. “I couldn’t go out. I couldn’t commit to anything because I was scared to leave the house.”

Known on TOWIE for her fiery personality and explosive fallouts, Chloe admits she was suffering privately while projecting strength online.

“I was in such a dark place,” she said. “People didn’t realise because I put on a brave face.”

Now in therapy, Chloe insists she is rebuilding her life — but acknowledges Jack’s choices have left lasting scars.

After their split last September, Jack moved back in with his mother, while Chloe relocated to her own flat in Brentwood, Essex. She now earns money through OnlyFans, with plans to relaunch her podcast and return to TV in the future — though she says she will never return to TOWIE.

Meanwhile, Jack has entered rehab after admitting he had just £20 to his name. He is currently receiving a £32,000, two-month treatment programme at Rainford Hall in Merseyside, funded after care provider Steps Together saw his story.

Despite everything, Chloe says her feelings remain complicated.

“I don’t support his choices,” she said. “But I still support him as a person. He’s been dealt a terrible hand with addiction.”

She added: “I forgive him — because you can’t live with hatred. I still love and care for him. But I’m still angry. And I wish things had been different.”

As for their future, Chloe remains cautious.

“He’s in a sensitive place,” she said. “I wouldn’t say we’re together or over. Right now, I’m just supporting him.”
